About Tahoe Science Consortium

As illustrated in the diagram below, the TSC is composed of five separate entities:

  1. The Executive Committee, which provides advice and strategic direction.
  2. The TSC Executive Director, who is a member of the TSC Staff, works to fulfill the TSC functions and maintain linkages with the resource management agencies.
  3. The Committee of Scientists, which works to fulfill the TSC functions and maintain linkages with the science community.
  4. The Peer Review Committee, which oversee the peer review functions of the TSC.
  5. The Science Community (SC), which exists as a resource that is readily available to assist in fulfilling TSC functions. The SC is open to all researchers active in the Tahoe Basin.

Tahoe Fact
Urbanization of the basin has eliminated 75 percent of its marshes, 50 percent of its meadows, and 35 percent of its stream zone habitats. Approximately 85 percent of all wildlife in the Tahoe Basin use these habitats.
